I find this to be "retconning" attempt. through Disney/Lucas foul-play. This is coming out AFTER Lucas had rescinded his already agreement in that the (now known as "Legends") novels to be canon. Through those novels, mostly written in the 90s, Star Wars had grown Far Greater than what the original Trilogy could have anticipated. Expanding all the way to 50+years after the fall of the Empire. Detailing the Rebuild and near destruction of the New Republic, the Death of Chewbacca, Mara Jade and Luke's children, Han and Leia's children (which none of them had the name 'Ben.' That name was one of LUKE's kids: Ben Skywalker). Following Wes Jension with Rogue Squadron, the Formation of Wraith Squadron, the hunting of the remnants of the Empire. Thrawn..... and So much more... ----Lucas just shat on all of those contributing writers when he dismissed them as canon, just so he could claim "clean slate," only for that clean slate to be tarnished with so much continuity and consistency errors and attempting to change the story, even of the original three.
