If they are ending the Skywalker Saga they can’t “course correct” because IX is the end of the course. The problem they face is getting fans to embrace a Post-Skywalker Star Wars. They need to convince fans that they can create new epics on par with the Skywalker films that actually deserve to exist as anything other then cash grabs. Their only shot at setting a new course is making a post-Skywalker film that actually resonates with people enough to create a fanbase for itself. If they can’t do that there is no course. Personally I don’t think this is actually possible.
